National Planner Day!

I recently learned that August 1st is National Planner Day! Are you a paper planner or a digital planner?

Maya’s Cloth and Paper Planner, Planner and I Pad

When I was younger, I always stuck with a paper planner. In more recent years, I tried digital planning, but it never really stuck for me and I was inconsistent. I’ve found myself returning to paper and I love it here!

Something that really contributed to that was a friend who decided to start communicating with me through mailed letters. She became my pen pal and I love the excitement of receiving mail. She also introduced me to the Cloth & Paper planner and now I’m obsessed!

I never thought I’d be the person traveling around with a planner pouch filled with dot highlighters, scissors, stickers, translucent Post-it Notes, page flags and witeout. But here we are!

Another thing that’s helped is learning about the Bullet Journal method, where you use shorthand notes and journal throughout the day as a way to stay on track, be productive and capture memories in the moment.

I’m also reading The Artist's Way by Julia Cameron (BUY the paperback) , which talks about writing three pages every morning to unload your mind and create space for clear thoughts and creativity as you start your day.

These three things—having a pen pal, using my Cloth & Paper planner and practicing morning pages—have made this season of journaling so enjoyable!
